World CNG Obtains US EPA Certification for Dodge Caravan Pentastar CNG

World CNG, Washington-based specialist in the aftermarket conversion of small- and medium-duty passenger and cargo vehicles from conventional gasoline to compressed natural gas (CNG), has received certification for its Dodge Caravan Pentastar 3.6 liter engine CNG conversion from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
“With EPA certification, the Dodge Caravan meets exacting North American emissions standards,” said Garret Alpers, CEO, of World CNG. “This product is unique from other conversions in that it is a direct reprogramming of the ECU calibration providing uncompromising performance. The system is completely plug-and-play since there are no additional electronic controllers and our calibration experts have taken full advantage of the dynamic capabilities of the OEM processor to deliver a Caravan optimized for CNG.”
The World CNG conversion for the Dodge Caravan and other Chrysler vehicles with the Pentastar 3.6 liter engine is offered in both a dedicated model, operating exclusively on compressed natural gas and a proprietary bi-fuel configuration that enables the vehicle to run on CNG or regular gasoline.
“We’ve been running 20 World CNG dedicated CNG taxis in our fleet for several months,” offered Brent Bell, President of Whittlesea Bell Transportation in Nevada. “The World CNG Dodge Caravan conversion has performed flawlessly, and the fuel economy exceeds our gasoline vans.”
World CNG is commencing natural gas conversion of Dodge Caravan’s from its three facilities in Seattle, Chicago, and Las Vegas immediately. This EPA Certificate is being expanded to include the RAM 1500 and RAM ProMaster utilizing the Pentastar 3.6 liter engine.
