MJF Switches to CNG-Powered Dump Trucks

J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers, a manufacturer of dump bodies, trailers, oil and gas field equipment and custom transportation solutions based in Somerset,燃氣檢測儀/煤氣檢測儀/煤氣管道泄露儀 Pennsylvania, has installed commercial tri-axle dump bodies and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel conversions on eleven Peterbilt trucks. CNG tanks, supplied by d-HYBRID Systems of St. George, Utah, will carry the equivalent of 90 diesel gallon equivalents (DGE) of CNG.
The trucks have been purchased by MJF Materials located in Lindenwold, NJ. They will be used to haul sand and stone from quarries to asphalt and concrete plants in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. A new CNG station on company property will fuel the fleet.
MJF Materials will purchase a total of 25 CNG-powered trucks. According to an article published by For Construction Pros, the trucks will cover 350 to 400 miles per day, and average about 80,000 miles (128,750 kms) per year. Owner Michael Forte sees the CNG truck and station investment as providing cost stability and predictability for his business, a stark contrast to diesel pricing.
“We expect to see more and more of the CNG configured trucks come to our facility for fuel system and dump body installations,” says Mike Riggs, Senior Vice President of J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers. “To meet that demand, J&J has invested in employee training and capital equipment to support the increasing popularity of the natural gas option.”
