Rolande LNG BV Awards Cryostar LNG Station Equipment Contract

Cryostar SAS has reached an agreement to supply equipment for five new LNG and LCNG refueling stations to Giessen, Netherlands-based Rolande LNG BV, one of the leading LNG fuel suppliers for trucks in the Netherlands, and Europe. Cryostar will install these stations in key locations in the Netherlands for Rolande during 2015, a move that will represent the largest single investment in LNG stations in Europe to date.
With installation scheduled in 2015 in Utrecht, Nieuwegein, Geldermalsen, Veghel and Heteren, these five new liquefied natural gas stations form part of the European subsidy program TEN-T, in which Rolande LNG BV is participating. This project is an important first step towards a broader international network of LNG refueling stations in North-West Europe, which is crucial for the roll out of LNG as an alternative fuel in heavy haulage.
TENT-T funding of EUR 5 million (USD 5.8 m) will finance a Study including pilot deployment to determine the viability of LNG as an alternative fuel for medium and long distance road transport (LNG4Haul).
Cryostar will equip the new stations with the latest technology, such as “on the fly” saturation, as well as its brand new Measuring Instruments Directive (MID)-approved 2.0 LNG dispenser. The equipment will comply with all current regulations in the Netherlands, such as PGS33. In addition to these new technologies, Cryostar LNG pump skids, control systems, and high pressure cryogenic pumps will complete the equipment package for the project.
Philippe Heisch, Cryostar global sales manager LNG distribution systems, stated: “We are proud that an experienced company in the LNG refueling field such as Rolande LNG have again shown interest in working with us, further cementing the working relationship and experience we have shared since 2011.”
Commenting on the new supply agreement, Jolon van der Schuit, CEO of Rolande said: “After careful evaluation of the different quotations, we decided to select Cryostar due to the good price/quality ratio and also our experience with two previously supplied Cryostar LNG filling stations, which have been in operation since the beginning of 2013”.
Based in Hésingue, in the Alsace region of France, Cryostar is an international supplier of cryogenic equipment for industrial and natural gas applications, including cryogenic pumps, turbo‐expanders, SSL Plants, LNG boil‐off gas compressors and LNG Vaporizers.
