Argentina's government will reduce import tariff in order to promote foreign investment in oil and gas development and equipment

According to Argentine media "chronicle reported on April 27, is a state visit to Argentina's President of the United States down before the formal meeting with the President of the United States trump, on April 26, in the United States, with nearly 250 major oil companies on behalf of Houston for lunch. In the meantime, President macri announced that Argentina would lower import tariffs on oil and gas development equipment, down from 35 percent today to 7 percent. The resolution, which is being developed by Argentina's department of production and energy, is scheduled to be released next week. It is reported that the resolution is only used to reduce the development of oil and gas equipment such as specific capital goods tariffs, the current tariff on this kind of capital goods according to the different situation, floating between tax rate from 14% to 35%. The Argentine government's move is aimed at attracting foreign oil and gas companies to expand investment, particularly to the us oil and gas giants, which have increased their investment in the Argentine VACAMUERTA field. The government expects to attract at least $12 billion in investment in the VACA MUERTA field, which is expected to be worth $20 billion a year from 2019.
